Power Corrections from Small Distances. *

چکیده

Power corrections have been discussed intensely in recent years, in particular, in review talks at the conferences in this series [1]. Thus, we would skip the general motivation and background. Instead, we will concentrate on one particular issue, that is speculations on hypothetical power corrections associated with short distances [2,3]. For the talk to be self contained, however, we will include also a very brief review of the standard picture based on the operator product expansion and underlying the QCD sum rules [4]. Naturally enough, in the standard picture we emphasize only the points which would be modified if there exist novel power corrections. Thus, the outline of the talk as follows: 1. Standard picture. 2. Standard picture vs experiment. 3. Beyond the OPE. 4. Predictions, tests.
